MailingPlatform can be used for free in two ways, and paid plans are managed entirely from Settings, Subscription. This article covers how the free tier, the trial and plan changes work.
Two ways to use it free
- 14-day free trial: every paid plan can start with a 14-day trial at signup, no credit card required. Full access to all features and the chosen plan's subscriber limit. After you create the account we email a confirmation link. You cannot sign in until you click it - see signing in and resetting your password if it does not arrive.
- Free tier: without any subscription, you can use the platform with up to 100 active subscribers indefinitely. All features are included - no restrictions, no time limit.
In both cases, sending requires your own Amazon SES setup, and email volume is billed by AWS at their rates, not by MailingPlatform.
Upgrading and changing plans
Everything happens under Settings, Subscription:
- On a trial, keeping the same plan: click Add payment method (or Subscribe on your current plan card) and complete Stripe Checkout. Converting a trial to paid does not start a second trial.
- Switching plans: choose Monthly or Yearly above the plan list (yearly saves about 20 percent), then click Upgrade or Downgrade on the plan you want. Changes take effect after checkout.
- Payment details and invoices: Manage billing opens the Stripe billing portal (available once you have checked out at least once).
Downgrading
If a downgrade would put you over the new plan's subscriber limit, reduce your active subscriber count first - the plan change cannot complete while you exceed the limit.
Current prices
Plans and prices are listed on the pricing page, including the subscriber limits per plan and the yearly discount.
Questions billing cannot answer here
For disputes about a specific charge or anything invoice-related that the Stripe portal does not solve, contact support through the chat - never share card details in email or chat.
